Crazy about a cappella?

Whether you knew it or not, a cappella is everywhere. There are thousands of groups at colleges and universities across the U.S. and the world. And with all these groups come blogs, articles in the New York Times, books and TV spots about the phenomenon that is collegiate a cappella.

Here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, there are four, count ‘em, FOUR a cappella groups: Tangled Up In Blue, MadHatters, Fundamentally Sound, and of course, Redefined. We form a unique a cappella community, collaborating on projects like the A Cappella Showcase, which featured all four groups in concert and raised $3300 for four Madison-area charities. Now an annual event, all of the UW groups hope to expand the fund raising and community involvement at the 2009 Showcase, scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, 2009 in the Wisconsin Memorial Union Theater.

Mark your calendars now, because this show will definitely sell out, and fast. We’ll keep you updated when tickets go on sale.
