We have a few more performances this semester, and then we’ll be in the studio recording our fifth album for a week in mid-May!  The album will be released at the Fall 2010 show.  We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our progress in the studio, so keep checking back for photos and stories from the studio!

We hope you’ve gotten your tickets for our spring concert this Saturday!  This concert is a special one for a few reasons.  We have alumni joining us from across the country, and we’re going to bring them back on stage for a special performance.  We’re also saying goodbye to eight fantastic seniors, and we have a special tribute planned for them as well.  We can’t wait for Saturday, and we hope that you’ll join us at the Orpheum!

The Cork ‘n Bottle String Band of Madison, Wisconsin was formed in 1996 by like-minded bluegrass enthusiasts.  The band played at Ken’s Bar every Wednesday night from May of 1996 until November of 2002 when the bar was torn down. After a series of downtown taverns the band found a new home, and currently resides on the campus of the University of Wisconsin at the Memorial Union Rathskellar and Terrace.

This show is an especially exciting one because we’re saying goodbye to eight fantastic seniors.  We’re planning a special tribute to them, as well as to the alumni that are joining us from across the country.  If you’ve been waiting to see Redefined in concert, this is the show you’ll want to see.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone that came to the 3rd Annual A Cappella Showcase!  We’re proud to announce that Wisconsin A Cappella is donating $5,600 to Relay for Life this year.

Relay does a great job of raising awareness and money for cancer research through the American Cancer Society, and we’re thrilled to be able to support that cause.  UW-Madison’s Relay is on April 16–we strongly encourage you to form a team and be a part of the night!  For more information, check out the Relay site.

The four groups, which comprise more than 60 UW students, seek to raise awareness as well as give back to a community that has exhibited generosity and support for Wisconsin A Cappella.  The past two showcases attracted statewide media attention and sold out the Wisconsin Union Theater on the UW campus. Last year’s showcase raised over $7,000, and we’re very optimistic that we can raise even more for cancer research this year.

We want to thank everyone that came out the the Union Grove and Kenosha performances last weekend!  It was a great start to the semester, and we had an absolute blast!
